An excerpt taken from the upcoming summer study… A Time to Rebuild: A study in the book of Ezra

As we study the book of Ezra, we need to take a serious look at our priorities and the foundation of our lives. God continues to promise His children great blessings and peace but these things come with a commitment to follow the Lord wholeheartedly.

As stated in Psalm 127:1,Unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it; unless the Lord guards the city, the watchman stays awake in vain.”  If the foundation of our lives is not built with strong enduring materials, the storms of life will take us down.

For some of us, we need to start over. God is in the business of restoring, rebuilding and redeeming whatever you are willing to relinquish to Him. Some of us have made a mess with the materials. We have not had the proper tools to build or the wisdom to make the right choices.

All that the Lord asks from us is to look to Him as the Master Builder. He does not need our help but He does need our willingness to listen, learn and change. Does it hurt? Yes, at times. But there is no greater place to be but in the Master Builder’s hands. Are you ready to listen? Do you want to start over? We are not talking about a remodeling or a facelift but a whole new house, new plan, a new start.

As we study this book of Ezra together, we will find the Lord speaking to the depths of our hearts. Allow Him to breathe fresh air into you. Allow Him to speak and then follow His voice. He has a plan for you. Allow Him to work in a fresh new way.

God is willing to do amazing things in your life. Are you willing to let Him?

I can personally testify that God is willing to do amazing things with your life if you let him. I have a very dark and troubled past that, even though I was baptized, I confessed my sins, and I am repenting, I could not forgive myself for. It was like refusing a wonderful gift from God, who sent his only son, Chirst Jesus, to die on the cross and shed his blood to cleanse my sins.Through his scripture I was able to finally see that forgiveness is a gift, not something your earn. Now I put all my energy into my life going forward and making certain that I never repeat those old mistakes again. I am walking with God and he is sharing his strength and wisdom with me.
